Artist Statement:
I construct my paintings by deconstructing quasi-random photographs I collect digitally. Reorienting the figure and ground into the limited space of the painting support is like a puzzle. I work with a limited palette and with my glasses off. The result is a study in movement, skewed perspective and unconventional contrasts.
I also carve stamps from rubber or soft plastic and use them to apply paint with a number of different approaches, creating patterns, atmospheres and surrealism.
