Artist Bio and Personal Information: Robert Kenyon Lynn
Robert is originally from Iowa. He relocated to Reno, Nevada in 2011 from Sarasota, Florida. He is a fraternal twin. Robert has had an interest in art since he was a young boy. Art and History have always been a part of Robert’s life. He has always had an interest in his own ancestry as well since a young boy. Many of his European Ancestors arrived in the mid to late 1600’s into Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Many of these ancestors of Robert’s were Quakers and French Huguenots. He is a Son of The American Revolution with several Ancestors. Patrick Henry/a Founding Father 1736-1799 is Robert's 5th Great Grand Uncle. Respectfully, Frank Lloyd Wright is Robert’s 5th Cousin once removed and Sir. Winston Churchill is Robert’s 10th Great Grand Cousin 2 times removed with direct lineage (Having the same Grandparents) and sharing multiple Ancestors. Both Frank Lloyd Wright and Sir Winston Churchill are Artists in their own right.
Robert paints in acrylics & mixed media. Robert paints with spontaneity, emotion, and energy-resulting in pieces that arouse and captivate the viewer. His abstract paintings are expressions of his love for color. “My Abstract Paintings allow me to explore color, light and texture. Each painting is a joyful journey of layering color”.
Robert is a self-taught Artist. He has only been painting for 14 years. He derives inspiration from the elements of the environment and from nature. He has always been inspired by many noted Master Arts such as Joan Miro, Mark Rothko, Gerhard Richter, Joan Mitchell, Grace Hartigan & Perle Fine to name a few.
Robert has Clients & Collectors in Canada, France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Australia, and the USA. Each painting is original, authentic, and personally signed, either on the front or side or back of the canvas. After creation an Acrylic UV Resistant/Archival Fine Gloss Varnish is applied to the surface of the painting to protect the quality of the painting and to safeguard your investment.
Artist Statement:
My Abstracts have Asian, Middle Eastern, and American Indian influences. They blend primitive and pre-historic arts with environmental inspirations such as landscapes and sky colors. I like building layers into my paintings. For me, it is like telling a story. Individuality is important in choice of color, texture, and shape as I create on the canvas space. I ponder my original intentions as I finalize the layers of the painting. Layering not only makes a strong statement, it also builds character and allows me to tell my Artist’s story. Each layer is like turning from one good book chapter to the next. I draw on the past and my artistic influences to create each piece. I want my paintings to arouse an individual’s mind and soul and to leave an everlasting impression.

I want my paintings to arouse an individual’s mind and soul and to leave an everlasting impression. Andrew Wyeth was my inspiration when I was in my youth. There is always a story to be told or ponder in his wonderful art. Over the past few years I have a blend of renown abstract Artists who inspire me. One of which is Gerhard Richter. The freedom of expression with color in Gerhard Richter’s art is what I find strong and wonderful.
