ARTIST STATEMENT
Pulp art from the 1930s and 1940s represented the best of bold, heart-pumping exagerrated colors, type and over-the-top graphics to illustrate adventure and fantasy stories.
My work pays hommage to these styles by using true multi-media art techniques combined with edgy texture and color that creates a richer and more vibrant experience.
Employing hand-made paper with a dimensional format,
and shadowing created by the raised artwork makes the
illustrations come to life, engaging the viewer. And the large canvas format grabs one by the lapels to feel part of the action.
