Artist Statement:
I am a landscape painter that paints in a fluid and semi abstract style. I am trying to capture the feeling and essence of the place rather than all the details. I like viewers to know what the image is but leave enough to fill in the rest with their imagination. Use of colour is important to me and I work intuitively and let the image speak to me as I paint. I take several photos while out in nature but work back in the studio, mixing up the photos and deciding on composition. My hope is that the viewer feels the same sense of serenity that I feel in nature.
