Artist Statement:
London-based artist Melinda Matyas draws inspiration from her Eastern European roots, infusing her works with influences from the artistic traditions of her upbringing and painting studies. Grounded in her fascination with Analytical Psychology, Melinda delves into the search for the sources that imbue life with meaning, making the human condition and the internal landscapes within societal expectations central themes in her art. In her creative process, she places equal emphasis on color and texture, utilizing the deconstruction of forms to achieve a harmonious balance between figuration and abstraction.
