Trees takes centre stage in my work. As long as I remember I am attracted by them. As architect and designer I like to work with the material wood in its whole range of attributes. My camera is always at hand to collect and save impressions I work with later on.

More than 10 years ago I started to take portrait-photographs of special trees. The "Arboretum" project (tree: lat. arbor) is a collection of these Tree-Portraits with the idea to isolate the object from its surrounding. As a result of this abstraction the trees show their properties (color, form, proportion, etc.) very precisely and intensive.

The missing roots are replaced by a grafic element including name, leaf-form and location (coordinates).

The season series are a special highlight of the collection. 4 single pictures show the same tree inspring, summer, autumn and winter.
