" Life is about embracing your destiny and leaving your mark on this world." -unknown-
It took a while for me to find my purpose. At age twenty-one I roamed aimlessly until one day I realized that creating was indeed my purpose in life. That pivotal moment was thirteen years ago, and was such an awakening time for me. I'm a self-taught artist who has evolved into creating abstract art.
My experiences, life lessons and cultural influences has guided me on my artistic journey. I was raised within a rich, and colorful Haitian- American background. I attended Kean University in Union New Jersey with a B.F.A in Interior Design. The combination of both backgrounds has influenced, motivated and inspired me to use geometric shapes. As well as the use of bright bold colors in my work. When you understand the symbolism behind shapes and how you can convey a story. You become lost in doing so. I also allow my spirit to guide me in placing these shapes without telling a story. I just trust the process.
The underlying purpose with all of my pieces. Is to evoke a feeling of happiness. I consciously raise my vibrations when I'm creating, and ensure to select the right color combinations. This is a big part of my creative process. I may listen to music, dance or expose myself to inspirational messages. Whatever it takes to carry that energy on to my canvas. I absolutely love to hear that the experience when viewing my work has made someone feel happy, calm, motivated or inspired. I aim to make a difference in someone's life. Even if it's only for a moment. That is my purpose!
My work has been featured in European magazines like, "Art International Magazine", as well as awarded the "Universal Artist" in Florence Italy. My goal is to influence on a global scale. I want the world to feel my message. Which is to always be authentic, expressive, and brave. To be a visionary, an inspiration and true to yourself. The world needs it!
