Artist Statement:
Lisa Sanders has been drawing since childhood. Her work shows a sensitivity to nuances of line, texture and color. She is an award winning artist who has exhibited her drawings and sculptures in the New York area.
She states "My drawings and sculptures are expressions of feelings, experiences and moments in time. I employ a variety of media, and work mostly on handmade paper or in its more elemental form, wood.
I use form created from line and shading to express complex experiences and I strive to make inert materials seem lifelike, using movement and stillness as a way to express feeling.
I hope that the viewer can be intrigued by my work, letting their imagination roam throughout the work and recognize through sharing my drawing, a common humanity."
