Katia Bellini

Katia Bellini is a contemporary artist and oil painter, she lived and worked in New Zealand, Australia and Spain before coming to the UK where she decided to seriously pursue her painting commitment. After attending an art college in Liverpool and atelier style workshop in Florence Academy of Art (Italy) she continued to create paintings in her studio in Warwickshire (UK). Balancing traditional and contemporary oil painting techniques the artist seeks to establish a particular mood or seemingly ephemeral atmospheres that we can capture but not fully understand and often a sense of mystery and complexity. The artist is always thinking in terms of harmony of colour and composition as well as vibrancy or muted quality of oil paint. The use of visible brushstrokes or texture and somewhat unfinished quality is of great importance in her practice as it gives an added dimension.
Her work has been featured in Artist and Illustrators Magazine and included in various juried exhibitions in the UK and abroad. Her paintings can also be found in private collections in USA, Italy, Spain, Ireland and UK.
